Well, we’ve seen crazier things before. The CAFERO robot by Yujin Robot was first shown at the Robot World 2008 show in Seoul, Korea, earlier this year. The “barista bot” should be able to serve your coffee without giving you any attitude, although of course there’s no guarantee about the quality. Do you even tip a robot?

He uses a hand-cranked stove top popcorn popper. You need to start with a decent source of green coffee and a passion for experimentation.

This is not for the faint-hearted, or the DIY-challenged. In this thread from the Home-Barista.com forums, matadero210 shares how he built his own espresso machine from scratch. I’m not as obsessed, not as dedicated, to attempt this myself, but this is a good way to make sure that you get exactly the results that you want from your espresso machine.
